''Christmas Eve'', the best-selling single song released in Japan in the 1980s, appeared on the Japanese singles chart for over 35 consecutive years.

In 2015, it was in the top 100 on the Oricon chart for 30 consecutive years, and in March 2016, it was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the song that has been in the Japanese singles chart for the most consecutive years. As of 2021, it has been in the Oricon Chart top 100 for 36 consecutive years and continues to break records. Along with this, it is the only song among all songs released in Japan to have reached the top 100 in five decades: the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.
