DESCRIPTION
Truly a cultural victoryâŠ
Firaxis Games, 2K Games and Laced Records have forged a tripartite alliance to deploy the music of Sid Meierâs Civilization VII onto historyâs favourite music format: vinyl records.
This 4LP box set features a large selection of music from across the âAgesâ of the game, while sleeves are adorned with beautiful, historical artwork by the Firaxis team.
Spanning human history and the entire globe, the soundtrack for Civilization VII is a hugely ambitious, impeccably recorded album of world & choral-orchestral music.
Christopher Tin opens the soundtrack with main theme âLive Gloriouslyâ, sung in Ancient Greek, Old English, Kâicheâ and Sanskrit by the Crouch End Festival Chorus. Tinâs piece "Baba Yetu" â the theme song for 2005âs Civilization IV â made history as the first piece of video game music to win a Grammy Award. His compositions are known for their rousing, globally inspired soundscapes that have become emblematic of the Civilization series.
In-game music cues were composed, arranged and produced by Geoff Knorr (Civilization: Beyond Earth, Civilization V & VI) and Roland Rizzo (Civilization II, III, IV, V, VI & XCOMÂź series). These tracks feature performances by a huge diversity of ensembles and musicians recorded worldwide, including the Prague FILMharmonic Orchestra and Choir, Ensemble I Fedeli, Mongolian State Morin Khuur Ensemble, Southern Pine Drum Group, Wong Pleng Khmer, and many soloists representing different musical traditions.
