1980 cult horror film soundtrack to the Don Dohler film âFiendâ. Synth horror film score by Paul Woznicki. An evil spirit possesses the corpse of a diseased man, Mr. Longfellow, must absorb the life energy of the living, in order for the corpse not to rot away.
FIEND was scored over a weekend without sleep in the Dohler families basement. Woznicki recorded the films music on a Niagara field recorder under the direction of Don Dohler, totally improvised as the movie played in real-time. The filmâs music ranges from elegant piano pieces to dark and unnerving tracks played on a combination of synthesizers, as well as modified toys, that give this soundtrack its distinctive atmosphere.
